Agate Beach, located in Sue-meg State Park, is a sweeping, beautiful beach that has a lot to offer.  There is abundant wildlife to be seen and beachcombing opportunities are abound.  Bring a picnic, a kite or just a comfortable pair of shoes for a relaxing walk along the ocean while searching for agates as well as smooth stones and funky driftwood designs.
The bluffs behind the beach, home to towering trees, are massive and provide an incredible backdrop. 
The beach is connected to Big Lagoons County Park to the north so you could explore for miles.
How to get there:
Traveling South 101 ~ Take the Patrick's Point exit about 6 miles north of Trinidad.  Patrick's Point State Park will be on your right.  Park in the Agate Beach Campground.  There is a long flight of steps that will lead you down to the beach.
Traveling North 101 ~ Take the Trinidad exit and head toward town.  At the four-way stop, turn right on Patrick's Point Drive.  The park will be on your left a few miles down the road. Park in the Agate Beach Campground.  There is a long flight of steps that will lead you down to the beach.

There is some great Camping at Sue-meg State Park, right near the beach.

There is a steep, winding path down to the beach from the parking lot above, manageable for most.
Other things to do in the area:
You could easily spend an entire day at Patrick's Point but if you're looking to get out and about, the Trinidad Museum, Trinidad Art Gallery, and the Strawberry Rock Gallery are all in Trinidad. Trinidad State Beach is also close and while you're there, don't miss a walk on Trinidad Head.
