The Trinidad Museum has been around for over thirty years and offers exhibits that showcase the history & artifacts of the Yurok and Tsurai Tribes, whaling, fishing and other coastal activites as well as rotating exhibits from local and regional artists. 
While you're there, be sure to visit the native plant garden and pond which are surrounded by the natural beauty of Trinidad.
How to get there:
From Highway 101, take the Main Street Exit west into Trinidad.   Take a right on Patrick's Point Drive (in front of the Chevron) and Janis Court will be on your left.

Other things to do in the area:
Be sure to check out the Strawberry Rock Gallery and the Trinidad Art Gallery while you're there.  Sue-meg State Park is just a few miles to the north.  Head south on Scenic Drive to visit Luffenholtz Beach, Houda Point, Moonstone Beach and more.
