The Eel River Wildlife Area is composed of over 2,100 beautiful acres along the Pacific Ocean.  It is in between Centerville Beach to the south and Table Bluff Beach to the north, making it a prime location for wildlife viewing.   You are likely to spot animals such as deer, otters and other marine life.  It's also a very peaceful place to bring a book and relax or take a leisurely walk.
How to get there:
Traveling on Highway 101, take the Hookton Road exit and follow it west.  Hookton Road will turn into Table Bluff Road and about four miles later the wildlife area will be on your left.  The small parking area is right before you reach Table Bluff County Park.  Take a look at the map for more specific directions.
More info:
Hunting is permitted during certain times of the year.  Call 707-445-6493 or visit the Park's Website for more information.
Other things to do in the area:
Headwaters Forest Reserve is just a few miles north of here and also offers peace and beauty.  Hookton Slough, Humboldt Bay Botanical Gardens and the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge are all nearby as well.
