The Buckhorn Recreation Area Campground at Black Butte is a 65-site campground that offers showers, a boat ramp, kid's playground and shoreline access for swimming, fishing and fun! There is also a group campground and a handful of walk-in sites.
The grounds also offer picnic areas and shelters, flush toilets, and fish cleaning stations.  Nearby wildlife viewing, biking, walking, hiking, disc golf and other activities are popular with campers.
Vehicles up to 35 feet in length should have no problem here.  No electrical hookups are available but there is a dump station.
How to get there:
From I-5 in Orland, take the Newville Road exit west.  You'll run into the recreation area a few miles down the road.  Follow Newville Road around the lake until you reach the west side of the lake and you'll see the entrance to the Buckhorn Campround on your left.
More info:
Standard fees are $20/night. Visit the park's website for more information. In the meantime, here's a MAP of the Campground.  Black Butte Lake is also home to the Orland Buttes Campground
Fun things to do in the area:
Before you reach the park on Newville Road, you pass the Farm Sanctuary, a peaceful animal farm that is open to visitors.  Just north, in Corning, you can taste some world-class Olive Oils at a handful of places.  Click HERE for more information about that.
