Stony Gorge Reservoir is a beautiful lake southwest of Red Bluff that has quite a bit to offer. The lake has 18 miles of shoreline and is very popular with those who like to fish, swim, camp or just relax with a picnic in one of the park's day-use areas.
There are a couple of boat launches and all forms of watersports are welcome here.
There are also hiking trails, including a short one located on the south side of the Pine Group Camp Site that will take walkers up above the damn.
How to get there:
From I-5 at Willows, take Highway 162 West. You'll run into the entrance at County Road 304 about 20 miles later.
Camping info:
Stony Gorge offers one group campground (Pine Group Site) and a number of individual campsites that sit right along the water. Campgrounds are on a first-come, first-served basis. Click HERE for more info about camping at Stony Gorge.
