Formerly a jail, the Del Norte County Historical Museum has quite a few interesting exhibits, some of which are housed in old jail cells. Created in 1965, the museum has exhibits featuring artifacts of the local Tolowa and Yurok Native Americans; including one of the finest Native American basket collections in Northern California. Musical instruments, old radio & phonograph equipment, early logging & mining tools and so much more also fill the rooms of the museum.

Other things to do in the area: 
Battery Point Lighthouse and Beachfront Park are located on the north side of the harbor and are really cool places to visit. Tolowa Dunes State Park offers unparalleled dunes and fun!
