Klamath - Klamath Overlook

Requa Drive
Klamath, California 95548
Del Norte County

Approaching 700 feet above sea level, the Klamath Overlook is a popular whale watching spot and is also the trailhead for a couple of great trails.  The views from the overlook are incredible so bring your camera and/or binoculars.  The overlook offers a unique perspective where you can see the freshwater from the Klamath River meets the salt water of the Pacific Ocean and is a great place for a picnic or to just relax and enjoy the wonderful smell of the sea.
How to get there:
Take Requa Drive from Highway 101 and follow it up the hill to the overlook.  It's just over 2 miles from the highway to the parking lot.  Requa Drive is about 3 miles north of Klamath.
More information:
Bring your binoculars.  The whale watching here is off the charts.
Other things to do in the area:
The Klamath Drive Through Tree is nearby.  Trees of Mystery is just to the north and be sure to check out the End of the Trail Museum while you're there.  If you're in the area to spot whales, be sure to check out Enderts Beach in Crescent City.  Heading into Oregon?  Our Southern Oregon Coast section has plenty of fun things to do while you're there.
