The Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary is 307 acres of forward thinking ingenuity that has led to a beautiful park that has a little something for everyone.  Located on the north side of Humboldt Bay, these wetlands are the temporary home to thousands of migrating birds as well as a bevy of plants, insects and mammals.
There are five miles of walking trails and an interpretive center that has interactive exhibits, free maps and literature, a bookstore, bird checklists and a log of recent bird sightings. The center is open Tuesday through Sunday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Monday 1-5 p.m. Closed on major holidays.
The Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to relax, enjoy the sunshine & fresh air and take in some amazing views of the Bay.
