The mission of the museum, through its collections, exhibits and programs, is to inspire an understanding and appreciation of the dynamic natural world.  By exploring the museum, visitors are inspired to get out and explore other magical places in northwest California.  This family-friendly musueum will get your imagination going and is quite an interesting stop on your Humboldt Road Trip. 
How to get there:
From Highway 101, take the 14th Street exit and head west.  Take a left on H Street (G Street is one-way north), a left on 11th Street and then a left on G Street.  The museum will be on your right.

The Arcata Community Forest is nearby as is the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary; both of which have quite a bit to offer.  Head north to Orick and prepared to be amazed at Fern Canyon.
