As one of the few facilities in Northern California that has a research grade telescope, the Taylor Observatory is a great place to bring family and friends to take a look "out there."  The Observatory is also home to a classroom, planetarium and plenty of outdoor space for those who want to bring their own telescopes.
The fourth Saturday of each month, the public is welcome to attend a cool event.  If you're going to be there on a fourth Saturday, contact the Observatory to see what is going on.
How to get there:
There are a few ways to get there depending on your starting point.  Check out the map for your best route.

Other fun things to do in the area:
A hike at Mt. Konocti County Park is pretty amazing.  A visit to the Lakeport Courthouse Museum is pretty cool and make sure to stop by Lakeport's Library Park while you're there.
