The Museum opened in 1993 and has quickly become one of the best and most important in the area.  The museum hosts a collection of Native American artifacts and an extensive rock and mineral display.  There are also quite a few interesting artifacts from the local pioneers and their early activities in the area.
How to get there:
At the Highway 29/53 intersection in Lower Lake, turn east on Morgan Valley Road and the museum will be on your right shortly after you pass through town.
More info:
The museum has limited hours and is closed most major holidays.  Check out its Website for more information.
Other things to do in the area:
The Anderson Marsh State Historic Park offers walking trails and a self-guided tour through historic buildings.  Middletown, just to the south, has some great Wineries worth a visit and is home to another fantastic museum.  If you're heading west, visit Clear Lake State Park or Mt Konocti County Park, which offers some really amazing hiking trails and incredible views of the area.
