Honey Lake Wildlife Area is almost 8,000 acres of habitat with a shallow lake.  The wildlife area is near the Nevada border, about 20 miles southeast of Susanville.  If you like checking out the birds, enjoy the peace of nature or want to get lost in the beauty of the surrounding views, make a stop. 
How to get there: 
Honey Lake is 20 miles southeast of Susanville on Highway 395.  You can't miss it.
