Created in 1958 by the construction of the Coyote Valley Dam, the lake provides quite a bit of recreational opportunity.  Camping is a popular activity here as well as hiking the miles of trails in the area.  Of course, the two boat ramps are also quite popular since you can fish in the lake.   There are also plenty of picnic and barbeque areas, playgrounds and two 18-basket disc golf courses.
