Jim Beckwourth was an African American who played a significant rold in the exploration and settlement of the area.  He led quite an adventurous life that took him all around the country beofre settling in Plumas County.  
The Museum was built in the 1850's, believed to have built by Beckwourth himself.  Stop by and take in part of the history of the area; time traveling over 150 years. 
How to get there:
The Museum is located right off of Highway 70 on Rocky Point Road.  Check out the map for more specific directions. 
More info:
The Museum is open on the weekends from 1-4pm; Memorial Day through Labor Day.  The Museum is free to enter.
