The Sacramento Zoo is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo is wholly managed by the nonprofit Sacramento Zoological Society and inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation. 
Some of the animals featured at the zoo include Orangutans, Jaguars, Lions, Tigers, Zebras, Giraffes, Foxes, Sloths, Kangaroos, Turtles, Snakes, Spiders, Fish and many many more!  It's a great place to get wild! 

How to get there:
The Zoo is located in South Sacramento, right off of I-5.  Check out the map for your best route to get there.

Other fun things to do in the area:
The California State Railroad Museum is in nearby Old Sacramento.  Sutter's Fort State Historic Park and the California Automobile Museum are also cool stops to make while in town. 
For the kids, make a trip to the Powerhouse Science Center & Discovery Museum and/or the Effie Yeaw Nature Center in Carmichael for a great time. 
Spend the day at the ballpark cheering on the local favorite Sacramento River Cats baseball team.
