When you're road tripping up through Siskiyou County and are looking for a nice place to stop for a picnic or to just get out of the car for a while, Greenhorn Park is a great choice.
Wrapped around the Greenhorn Reservoir, the park has a little something for everyone. At around 500 beautiful acres, there are 12 miles of walking trails; both paved and dirt, a playground, historical buildings and more.
The reservoir is stocked with trout and dogs (leashed) are welcome.

How to get there:
From Main Street in Yreka, take the Greenhorn Exit west.  The park will be on your left.
More info:
Dogs can be off leash on the upper trails only.  There are also bathrooms at the park.
Other things to do in the area:
The Siskiyou Motor Speedway hosts some family-friendly events and just to the southeast is the Living Memorial Sculpture Garden.
