The Chetco River runs along the corner of this park and is known for fall and winter salmon and steelhead fishing.  Camping and walking trails are also available in this peaceful park about eight miles from the coast. 
If you brought your fishing poles with you on your road trip or are looking for a peaceful place to camp, you'll want to make the trip out to this park.  If fishing is not your thing, you may want to skip this one and check out other things to do on our list.
How to get there:
From Highway 101 in Brookings, take S. Bank Chetco River Road and it will lead you to the park. 
Camping info:
There are 47 sites that have electric (50amp), water, flush toilets and showers.    There are also 3 cabins for rent.  The campground is open year-round.

Other things to do in the area:
One of the first places you come to when crossing into Oregon is Crissey Field State Recreation Site; an expansive beach with a visitor center.  Azalea Park is known for its collection of flowers, plants, a fantastic, wooded disc golf course and more. Just north of Brookings is Thomas Creek Bridge; Oregon's tallest.
