This 40-acre park, which is the first Oregon park you encounter after the California border, is home to a Visitor Center that uses the latest in green technology and is loaded with information.  There is plenty of parking and the beach is easy to get to.  Because it slightly crosses into California, you can be in two states at once while visiting this park.
The northern border of the park is the Winchuck River and is a popular place for fishing.  Stopping by Crissey Field State Recreation Area is a great first stop on your Southern Oregon Coast road trip.  The beach is well maintained and really beautiful.

How to get there:
The park is located right off of Highway 101; immediately north of the Oregon/California border.
More information:
There is an easy trail that leads from the park to the Winchuck River Estuary.  Visit the Park's Website for more information.
Other things to do in the area:
Just north in Brookings, Azalea Park, Alfred A Loeb Park, Harris Beach and the Chetco Museum are just a few of the places that offer some fun in the area.
