Bastendorff Beach is a great place for having a picnic and doing some whale watching, relaxing and enjoying the sunshine or just goofing off at the beach with your dog.  There is a children's playground, plenty of picnic areas that come with barbeques, horseshoe pits and a basketball court.
The beach is a popular place for fishing and the day-use area has a fish cleaning station so you can catch and cook your dinner in the park.
We really enjoyed this beach.  It's clean and peaceful with penty of space to get lost in the beauty of the area.
The sunsets here are pretty incredible as well.
