This free museum stores a vast selection of artifacts, photos and other unique items that detail the history of the area, its people and the geological formation of the region. Located right on the Rogue River, it's a nice place to stop and take a break while on the road.
How to get there:
From Highway 101, just south of Wedderburn Bridge, take Port Drive and it will lead you into the shopping center where the museum is located.

Other things to do in the area:
Don't miss the Curry County Historical Museum while you're in the area. Pistol River State Park is just to the south of Gold Beach and Nesika Beach is just to the north. Both are located right along the highway.
