The Dunsmuir Museum features artifacts that celebrate the rich history of the area including; early Indian eras, railroad history and the Elinor Van Fossen Harrison Native American Basket Collection among other interesting displays.
The museum also hosts community events throughout the year as well.

Other things to do in the area:
Dunsmuir City Park, which features the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, is a beautiful park located along the Sacramento River.  Just south of Dunsmuir is Castle Crags State Park which has walking trails, hiking, fishing, camping and more.
