Whiskeytown - The Waterfalls of Whiskeytown Lake

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area has four pretty incredible Waterfalls that are easily accessible and offer great hiking opportunities.  Click the link of each waterfall to get more information about it.

4)  Whiskeytown Falls
Park info: 
This 39,000-acre park is home to a wide variety of both water and land activities.  There are over 70 miles of trails, some leading to the four waterfalls you can find within the park, a marina, an ampitheatre, plenty of picnic & barbeque areas, open beaches with plenty of swimming areas and much more. 

How to get there:
Whiskeytown is on Highway 299, 10 milles west of Redding and 35 miles east of Weaverville.  The map shows the location of the Visitor Center where you'll need to pick up a day pass. 
Camping info: 
There are a few campgrounds at Whisketyown Lake; standard, group and primitive.  There is also an RV Campground.  Each campgound has different amenities so click HERE to visit our camping section and get more information to find the right one for you.

Other things to do in the area:
On your way to the lake, you'll pass through Shasta State Historic Park; a really cool step back into time.  The park also features a Museum worthy of a visit.  Whiskeytown Lake hosts many awesome events throughout the year.  Visit our Event Calendar for events at the lake and nearby as well.
