Ferndale - (1 mile; O&B) - Fleener Creek Trail

The Fleener Creek Trail takes you from the bluff to the beach in an easy downhilll half-mile walk.  The beach offers plenty of space to play, enjoy a picnic or just relax. 
From the beach area, you can explore north and south along the coast but be aware of the tides, they can block your path back.
Distance: 1 mile (round-trip) 

Degree of Difficulty:  Easy to Moderate.  
Dogs:  Yes on leash.  Pick up after your dog.
Camping:  Not near the trail but there is camping at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds RV Park in Ferndale.
How to get there:
From either direction on Highway 101, take the Ferndale exit and head through town.  Take a right on Ocean Avenue which becomes Centerville Road.  5 miles later you'll come to Centerville Beach.  Keep going another 1/2 mile and the trailhead will be on your right.

If you time the tides right, you can loop from the Fleener Creek Trail along the beach to Centerville Beach and back up the road to your car for an amazing workout.

For another nearby trail, continue down Centerville Road past Fleener Creek another mile and the Guthrie Creek Trailhead will be on your right.  Check out some incredible art and locally made goods while in Ferndale by stopping by the Blacksmith Shop Gallery, Ferndale Arts and Redeye Laboratories.
