Ferndale - (2 miles; O&B) - Guthrie Creek Trail

Centerville Road
Ferndale, California 95536
Southern Humboldt

The Guthrie Creek Trail is a 2 mile round-trip walk on a well maintained trail that takes you from a bluff down to the beach with some amazing views along the way.
Often times you'll be the only person at this beach which offers plenty of space and coastline to explore.  It's a great beach to have a picnic, toss a frisbee or just relax.  If you decide to explore the coastline, be aware of the tides, they can block you from getting back to the trail.

Distance: 2 miles (round-trip)
Degree of Difficulty:
  Easy to Moderate
Dogs:  Yes on leash.  Please clean up after you dog(s).
Camping:  Not near the trail but you can camp at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds RV Park in Ferndale.
How to get there:
From either direction on Highway 101, take the Ferndale exit and head through town.  Take a right on Ocean Avenue which becomes Centerville Road.  5 Miles later you'll come to Centerville Beach.  Keep going another 2-2.5 miles and the trailhead will be on your right.
More info:
The trail ends where Guthrie Creek meets the beach making it sometimes difficult to get the beach as mother nature often alters the area where the trail ends.  Be creative and it will only add to your adventure.

Other things to do in the area:
Hike the Fleener Creek Trail or rest and relax at Centerville Beach; both of which you'll pass on the way to this trail.   There are also some unique and interesting Art Galleries in Ferndale.
Redeye Laboratories, The Blacksmith Shop Gallery and Ferndale Arts are three of our favorites.
