Kimtu Beach is one of the most popular swimming areas in Humboldt County and the swimming here is fantastic.  A beautiful drive from the coast to Willow Creek usually sees the temperature rise double-digits, making Kimtu the perfect place for swimming, sunbathing, having a picnic, kayaking and other family friendly river activites. 
How to get there:
From Highway 299 in Willow Creek (near the Chevron Gas Station), turn on Country Club Road and then take a right on Kimtu Road.  Kimtu Beach will be at the end of the road on your left. 
More information:
There are a few rocks from which you can safely jump.  Watch out for other swimmers.  There is a $2 day use fee. 
Other things to do in the area: 
Veteran's Park is just before Kimtu Beach.  Creekside Park is a fun park with a Disc-Golf Course and find Bigfoot at the China-Flat Museum.
