Samoa - Samoa Dunes Recreation Area

New Navy Base Road
Samoa, California 95564
Northern Humboldt

This 300 acre park offers everything from hiking, surfing and fishing to bird watching, nature walks and off-highway vehicle use (OHV).  There are also restroom facilities, picnic areas, an OHV staging area and plenty of room to just relax.
If wetlands and wild native plants are what you're looking for, Samoa Dunes has that too.
When you road trip to Humboldt and want to play along the bay, the ocean and in the dunes, this is a great place to visit.
How to get there:
From Eureka, take Highway 255 across the bridge.  Make a left at the light which will be New Navy Base Road.  The park will be about 4 miles on your right.
From Arcata, turn right on Samoa Blvd.  Samoa Blvd will turn into New Navy Base Road.  Follow this until the end (approx 8 miles) and the park entrance will be on your right.
More info:
Protective helmets must be work by all ATV riders.  All OHVs must be registered and flags are required on all vehicles.  Respect riding boundaries and consult a map prior to riding.  OHV use is prohibited at night.
