Point Arena - Moat Creek Beach

Highway 101
Point Arena, California 95468
Mendocino County

This beach, just south of Point Arena, is a popular spot for tidepooling, whale watching, kayaking, surfing, picnicking and bird watching.
Above the beach there are bluffs that offer incredible views of the coastline and trails that guide you along.  Sunsets from the bluffs are pretty incredible.

How to get there:
The parking lot is right off the highway; two miles south of Point Arena.  Take a look at the map for more specific directions.
More info:
There is a primitive bathroom but not much else in the way of amenities.  The stairs up to the top of the bluff start from the parking lot.
Other fun things to do in the area:
The Point Arena Lighthouse is also a favorite stopping point of people visiting the area.  Gualala Point Regional Park is just to the south of Moat Creek Beach.  If your travels take you north, Manchester State Park is a fun place to stop as is Navarro Beach, where the Navarro River meets the Pacific Ocean.
