The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is a compact zoo that focuses on educational pursuits.  A small black bear was the zoo's first official resident in 1963 and since then, the zoo has grown to feature many other animals including; coyote, sheep, wolves, a great horned owl, feral cats, chickens, ducks and more. 
How to get there:
The Zoo is located just south of Folsom Lake.  Take a look the map for your best route to get there.

Other fun things to do in the area: 
Right next door to the Zoo is Folsom City Lions Park.  The Effie Yeaw Nature Center in Carmichael is another great place for kids and the Powerhouse Science Center in Sacramento is also worth a visit.
