Folsom Lake Recreation Area, located about 25 miles northeast of Sacramento, is an outdoor playground that has quite a bit to offer.
From its 75 miles of shoreline and picnic areas to its miles and miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails, the recreation area has it all.

Boating, water skiing, wake boarding, swimming and fishing are also popular activities at the lake.  The park also features beach areas where the kids can play.
Throughout the park, there are picnic areas and plenty of places to kick a ball, toss a frisbee or fly a kite.  Of course, just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful lake is also encouraged.
When you road trip to the Sacramento area and want to spend the day playing at the lake, Folsom Recreation Area is a great place to do so.
