Del Norte County
Website

The Nickerson Ranch Trail, located in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, takes visitors through a wonderland of big & beautiful trees.  It's not as popular as the nearby Boy Scout Trail so you'll see less people however, you do sacrifice a little in terms of environment.  If you're looking for solitude, this is an awesome trail.
Distance: 2.4 miles; out & back.  It can also be a loop if you take Howland Hill Road back to where you parked.  You can do this regardless of which trailhead you choose as your starting point.

Degree of Difficulty: Easy
Dogs: No
Camping:
The park offers 62 standard and 15 tent only camping spots.  Some of the amenities include; fire pits, picnic areas, restrooms with hot showers, flush toilets and easy access to fishing, hiking and more.
How to get there:
Check out the map for your best way to get there.  Either route is a gorgeous drive so take you time and enjoy.

More info:
The Boy Scout Trail has plenty of parking but if you decide to park there, get there early; especially on the weekends.  There are also plenty of pullouts near the trailheads so parking shouldn't be an issue.

Other things to do in the area:
The Hatton and Hiouchi Trails are nearby.  Spend an afternoon checking out the Point St. George area.  Our Del Norte Road Trip section has lots of other choices as well.
