Ferndale - Russ Park

Bluff Street
Ferndale, California 95536
Southern Humboldt

Russ Park is a bird sanctuary with over three miles of walking trails.  The park encompasses 110 acres and has some really nice views of the city.  There is also a pond in the park which is open from dusk to dawn.
The park is really beautiful and can be a great place to exercise or get lost in the beauty of the area.  When you road trip to Humboldt and visit Ferndale, take a few minutes to enjoy its beauty at Russ Park.
How to get there:
From Highway 101 (in either direction), take the Ferndale/Fernbridge exit and drive toward Ferndale.  Turn left on Ocean Avenue.  The park will be on your right not too far down the road. If you reach the cemetery, you've traveled just a bit too far.
More info:
This park is very relaxing but if you're looking for a workout, you can find that challenge here as well.  There are no facilities at this park.
Other things to do in the area:
Centerville Beach, a beautiful, wide-open place to play is also in Ferndale. Rohner Park in Fortuna is a great park with trails through the Redwoods and the Scotia Museum is the perfect place to learn a little bit about logging history in Humboldt County.
