Located a little over 10 miles south of Coos Bay, this park features incredible views of the ocean from the bluffs above as well as ocean access.  This former home of lumber baron Louis Simpson now provides guests with Japanese Gardens, a variety of groves, picnic areas and is also flush with flowers, trees and other plant life.
There are walking trails that lead you to the sandstone bluffs overlooking the ocean, that take you through some of the incredble trees on the property and to the two rose gardens located within the park. 
Simpson Beach, which you can access from the park, is a great place to relax and spot migrating whales.

Sunset Bay State Park is close by; just to the north.  Bastendorff Beach Park, John Topits Park, the Coos Art Museum and Coos History Museum are also fun places to visit while you're in the area.
