This beach has some of the best windsurfing on the Oregon Coast.  So good in fact, many windsurfing competitions are held here. 
The fishing is really good at the park and like most of the Oregon beaches that we visited, it wasn't very crowded and offered lots of room to play.  
The park is also an excellent birding spot.  Horses are welcome and don't forget your camera!
How to get there:
Pistol River State Park is located right along Highway 101; 23 miles north of Brookings.

Other things to do in the area:
Jerry's Rogue River Museum and the Curry County Historical Museum are also located in Gold Beach.
