This historic beach was the site of a fierce battle between Indians and explorers and is now a great beach and park that is open to the public.
There is a level, paved walkway, benches, public restrooms and some spectacular views.
The beach is really nice and a fun place to visit but it's the climb up the rock that makes this stop unique and exciting.  The views from the rock itself are some of the best on the coast.  In the winter and spring, whales can be clearly seen from this beach.

How to get there:
The park is located right off of Highway 101 and easy to find. Check out the map for exactly where you can expect to find it.
More information:
The Visitor Center will have more information about the park.  Visit this Website for more info about the history of the park.
Other things to do in the area:
Visit the Port Orford Lifeboat Station and Cape Blanco State Park while in the area.  Floras Lake State Natural Area is also a great place to visit.
