Orick - (1.8 miles; O&B) - Carruthers Cove Beach Trail

Coastal Drive
Orick, California 95570
Northern Humboldt
Phone: 707-465-7354

This short trail, located in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, leads hikers down to a beautiful, remote beach and is the ideal place for a picnic, exploring or just relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Humboldt County.
For the most part, the first part of the trail is all downhill to the beach.  It's a fairly well maintained trail that is full of green, Humboldt lushness.  It's such short trail that you almost have to remind yourself to enjoy the journey or it will be over before you know it.  Of course, any trail that goes straight down, is most coming most likely coming right back up but it goes by quick.

If you haven't done this hike, it would be a great one to add to your list on a day when you're out checking out the area.
