Orick - (2.8 miles; Loop) - Trillium Falls Trail

Davison Road
Orick, California 95555
Northern Humboldt

Trillium Falls is one of the rare waterfalls in Humboldt County.  It's not the biggest nor does it offer the most vertical drop but it's ours and we love it.  Hikers will reach the waterfall pretty quickly but the rest of the trail is really nice and worth exploring.  You'll most likely see people on the trail after you pass the waterfall but the crowds will thin out at this point.
Distance: 2.8 miles; Loop
Degree of Difficulty: Easy
Dogs: No
Camping:
There is nearby camping at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.  Click HERE for info.

How to get there:
From Highway 101 in either direction, take Davison Road west (it only goes west).  This is the road that would take you to Fern Canyon but you're going less than a quarter mile.  Look left for signs of the day use area; right after the Elk viewing area.  At the day-use area, you'll see signs for the trailhead.

More info:
This is an extremely popular trail; especially during the summer.  Get there early for a more peaceful experience.  Please leave Trillium Falls better than you found it.
Other things to do in the area:
If you're looking for a more challenging hike, you can pick up the Berry Glen Trail from the same spot.  This beautiful and tranquil hike leads you up to Lady Bird Johnson Grove.  Be sure to check out Beaches section for chill places to catch the sunset and our Eat & Drink section for local places.
