Harbor - Oregon's Largest Monterey Cypress

15461 Museum Road
Brookings, Oregon 97415
Curry County

The Largest Monterey Cypress in Oregon is located just south of Brookings, right along Highway 101.  The sign out front of the tree claims that it's the world's largest which was true at one time.  Now, this 150+ year-old tree is second only to one on the California Coast.
How to get there:
The tree is located right off of Highway 101 a few miles south of Brookings.
More info:
There is a local legend that the ghost of Harrison G. Blake (who planted the tree) still roams the tree.
Other things to do in the area:
The Chetco Valley Historical Museum is right next to the tree.   Thomas Creek Bridge, Oregon's tallest bridge, is just north of the tree as is the beautiful Pistol River State Park.  Harris Beach State Recreation Area is a great place to stop if you're looking to spend some time at the beach.
