The Lassen Historical Museum is the place to go for photographs, artifacts and exhibits about the history of the Susanville area; including the Sagebrush War.
The museum hosts permanent and rotating exhibits with artifacts that go back as far as 160 years and include relics from the mining industry, railroads, fashion, Native American history and much more.
The volunteers at the museum are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.
How to get there:
The museum is located on N Weatherlow Street, just north of Main Street in downtown Susanville.

The museum is open Monday - Saturday during the summer and Tues/Thurs/Sat during the winter. Contact the museum for hours. The museum is free to enter.
The historic Roop's Fort is adjacent to the museum. Memorial Park is located on the backside of the museum and the Historic Susanville Railroad Depot is a short drive way. Skyline Park in nearby has a nice trail that offers great views of the Honey Lake Valley.
